The Sixteen String Jack has been open and closed over the last few years for various unfortunate reasons, but has now been taken over by new owners Derek & Monica Dawkins.
Derek & Monica, assisted by their daughter Carol, now have the popular pub back up and running and are optimistic its glory years can be returned. The Sixteen String Jack is now an enticing village pub which is run as its owners like it. It is atmospherically lit and offers a warm and hearty welcome. The aim is to offer more of a community pub with the food playing a major factor in its appeal.
The Sixteen String Jack pub showcases wholesome home cooked menus. An evening meal might begin with crispy hot bacon and soft melted brie slowly melting on to a bed of crispy salad, or plump for the racier option of a Prawn Cocktail with a Mediterranean twist.
Main courses could be of a succulent Bacon loin with a tangy pineapple sauce or a more popular version of Lambs Liver and Bacon on a bed of creamy mashed potato and roasted vegetables. Then try one of our delectable sweets all made on the premises.
The bar Menu offers light lunches and cream teas all served in this informal setting which has outside gardens in the finer weather, a perfect location to meet with friends and family.
We will be running various themed evenings such as a Fish night or Steak night to name but a few. |
